Joe Bacal was Creative Director of Sunbow Entertainment for twenty years and in the early eighties, he was Head Writer of the Peabody Award winning TV series, The Great Space Coaster. At the same time, he was also Creative Director of the Griffin Bacal advertising agency. He has lectured on creativity at the Parsons School of Design and is co-author of the satirical book, How To Become A Legend In Your Own Lifetime––A New Concept in Self-Help. His poems have appeared in several literary journals, including Confrontation, Hanging Loose, Poetry NZ and Van Gogh’s Ear.


The featured reading follows the fabulous Son of a Pony open reading at the cafe. Poet/convivial mistress of ceremonies Kat Georges hosts. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.; the open reading begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $7, which includes a free drink.
