TRP presents 3 Fun Events in NYC This Week!!

This is a great week for poetry in NYC. Three Rooms Press is proud to be hosting three events, including:

Join us for a brand new reading series, held the first, third and fifth Thursday of every month at Kiva Cafe in Tribeca: the little cafe with the big heartJewel Allison is a spoken word artist and author of the poetry collection "Stealing Peace." She was a finalist in the 2002 Def Jam poetry contest, and has been a featured performer nationwide. Her jazz-driven poetic style reflects her lifelong passion for music. Poet Peter Carlaftes is the author of 7 books, including his just-completed series of Bar Poems. His work is part Bukowski, part Baudelaire, and all Beautiful. Graham Buchan graduated as a Chemical Engineer but has spent his working life in the film, video and television industries, including a substantial spell at ABC News' London bureau. His first poetry pamphlet, Airport Reading, was published in 2004 and his first full collection, There is Violence in these Vapours in 2007, both from the tall lighthouse (www.tall-lighthouse.co.uk). He was joint winner of Piccadilly Poets in 2001 and the Cellar Slam Champion in 2006. His poetry has appeared in two dozen magazines, one national newspaper and three anthologies, and he has also published travel writing, short stories, and poetry, film and art appreciation. Celebrate the end of spring on Saturday, June 20th at Bowery Poetry with red-hot performances by NYC's downtown scribes and musicians. Poet Ryan Buynak reads from his piercing new collection Yo Quiero Mas Sangre (Three Rooms Press); performers Peter Carlaftes and Kat Georges explore decadence in modern life with the biting new satire,"Sarah's Choice" and longtime downtown singer/songwriter Bob Musial performs with his band of beloved music mavens, Bob's Bios.

Doors open 3:45 p.m.. Show begins at 4 p.m. Tickets: $8.

Inheriting Craziness is LIke a Soft Halo of Light
