NYC Poet Peter Carlaftes in Las Vegas, LA Poets Corrie Greathouse & Doug Knott in NYC!!

No matter which side of the country you're on, Wednesday, March 4 will be a poetical day to remember.

Wed., March 4, 7 pm
NY Poet Peter Carlaftes hits Las Vegas
Sunrise Coffee Shop

New York poet Peter Carlaftes hits the Las Vegas strip (mall) for a one-night stand with a pocketfull of poetry laced with dark humor about the struggle to survive modern love, aged liquor and urban nightmares without losing your mind! Carlaftes is the author of 5 books of poetry, including Nightclub Confidential, The Bar Essentials and The I Can't-o Cantos.

His live appearances are sheer magic--like being hit by a ton of bricks then caressed until dawn with love. If you're anywhere near the Las Vegas area, be sure you make it down to the marvelous Sunrise Coffee Shop, 3130 E. Sunset Rd., Suite A, Law Vegas, NV, 7 pm. (702) 433-3304 for details.

Wed., March 4, 6 pm
LA Poets Corrie Greathouse & Doug Knott
meet NY Poets Mary Reilly & Marty O'Connell
at New York's Bowery Poetry Club

Corrie Greathouse is a fascinating poet whose intimate works achieve a smoky cool tension unlike anything I've ever witnessed. With DJ Graffiti's trance beats accompanying her, this show is a don't miss.

But wait--there's even MORE reason to get in the door at the FFF Bowery Poetry Club. Joining Corrie will be the great L.A. hip-trip-beat poet Doug Knott, a long-standing member of the legendary Carma Bums!

Oh, and--yep!--even more reasons to go! Two New York Superstar poets Mary Reilly and Marty McConnell are kicking it with the L.A. crew. What better way to start Wednesday eve and the groove into the weekend? The whole-schmole kicks off at 6 pm at the beloved Bowery Poetry Club. Only $6 admission. Oh, and one more thing--the man himself, none other than Mister Gary Glazner is hosting the event.

Bowery Poetry Club, 308 Bowery (btwn Bleecker and Houston), 212-614-0505, http://www.bowerypoetry.com
